As with my 'what happen to youami singles' thread, singles are the only way we can hear these rogers moments that don't make the cut for the LPs. TIM PUT OUT ALL OF YOUR TUNES WE F***** NEED THEM (meltdown over)
It's hard to choose a favourite B-side, but I'd have to say that Tourism is just an amazing rocker....I heard them play it live at redfern Oval in 99 or 2000 when they played the charity concert for keeping the rabbitos alive in the NRL, I hadn't heard the song before and it blew my head off, lyrically I thought it was an interesting observation...there really is nothing more unatural than a bus load of tourists.
'gasoline for two' is incredible and of course we heard the live version on saturday night round ten.
My favourite You am I rarity is the soliders single on vinyl so 'six' is a bit of classic to me anyway.
also 'When you got dry' I mean whats better than Greg Hitchcock playing slide guitar.......cracker of a song, very much a transition songwriting period for rogers.......I love talking about you ami b-sides
When they let him out in '71 he'd lost a little weight
But he dressed like Jimmy Cagney and I swear he did look great.
